TEKEVER Data Intelligence Award

Formula Student Portugal, in partnership with TEKEVER, proudly presents the TEKEVER Data Intelligence Award. This award recognizes teams that demonstrate excellence in the organization, accessibility, and intelligent use of engineering data, promoting innovative approaches to telemetry, KPI analysis, and data-driven decision-making within Formula Student.

OVERVIEW

The TEKEVER Data Intelligence Award recognizes Formula Student teams that create efficient and intelligent systems to manage, organize, search, and analyze vehicle data. Inspired by TEKEVER’s experience with long-endurance drone operations, the award focuses on how teams transform raw telemetry into a practical engineering tool that supports faster decisions, performance analysis, and continuous improvement.

ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA

The award is open to all teams competing in Class 1 and Class 2 at Formula Student Portugal 2026. To participate, teams must submit a technical report before the event deadline.

Teams are evaluated across several key areas:

  • Data Architecture & Organization — how data is structured, searchable, traceable, and protected against errors.

  • Pre-computed KPIs — availability of performance metrics such as energy or fuel consumption, distance covered, and run duration.

  • Extensibility — the ability to quickly create and calculate new KPIs during a live challenge.

  • Data Access & Export — how easily teams can access raw, calibrated, and derived data.

  • Technical Documentation — clarity of the submitted report and explanation of design decisions.

AWARDS

The TEKEVER Data Intelligence Award evaluates teams on data architecture, KPI generation, data accessibility, and technical documentation, with a total of 125 points available.

  • A live KPI challenge will test each team’s ability to create and compute new performance metrics in real time.

  • The winning team will receive a €1000 cash prize.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Teams must submit a technical report by July 5th at 23:59 via email to geral@formulastudent.pt with the subject line:
DATA INTELLIGENCE | TEAM NAME.

The report should include:

  • System architecture overview

  • Data organization and search methodology

  • Available KPIs

  • Methods for creating new KPIs

  • Export formats and raw data access

  • Design decisions and trade-offs

  • Complete sensor list and specifications

Selected teams advance to an evaluation session consisting of:

  1. Phase 1 – Rotating Q&A with the judges

  2. Phase 2 – Live KPI Challenge, where teams demonstrate the flexibility of their data platform in real time.
